Weight Loss: – 2 Important Areas You Should Maintain

Nearly everyone at some stage of their lives is obsessed with how much they weigh and how good they look. Many get to a stage where they are depressed with the way they look and do not like to look in mirrors. Those who get this way tend to do anything they can to lose the weight as quick as possible. Everyone wants a quick fix, but is there any point doing a quick fix such as this when 9 times out of 10 the weight lost will just be put back on again? In order to achieve weight loss and keep it off, it is important that you take it slowly, do not expect to see big differences too quickly, it will take time. You have to condition not only your body but your mind to get used to a constant regime. If your body and mind does not get used to it, if you just rush in, you will not stick to it.

If you lose weight you want it to be sustainable, no one wants to go through the efforts of weight loss just to put it back on so follow these simple steps to kick start your weight loss regime. Once you get used to doing this and you begin to stick to it, add more or change it about to suit you and your needs more.

Diet

The most important part of weight loss is dieting, I don’t mean starve yourself and eat as little as possible. But, you do need to eat healthier, still eat the things you crave so you don’t ‘binge’ eat, but eat them in moderation. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you are taking in, so cut your calorie intake to around 1,200 per day. This amount of calories allows you to have three tasty meals and snacks in between so that you do not feel you are being deprived and to help you stick to it. As you get used to it you can cut your calorie intake even more but a healthy calorie intake whilst exercising is 1,200.

Exercise

The second most dreaded word after dieting is exercise. Exercising does not have to be too strenuous, if you are just starting out just stick to the basics, if you aren’t just starting out then chances are you know what you are capable of. If you are just starting to attempt weight loss, it is advised that you do 30 minutes of exercise per day. This can be anything from a brisk walk, a bike ride, to going on a trampoline. As long as you are getting your heart rate going you will begin losing weight as long as you are maintaining a healthy balance also.

Weight loss is really simple and can be very effective and sustained if you go about it in the right way. If you lose the weight slowly you are more likely to keep it off.
